Know this has been discussed here before, sorry for the repeat. Was wondering if anyone has had any recent experience (good/bad) with PowerLogix.
The price of the PowerLogix card is attractive and I think I could live with the slower speed vs the Sonnet card. I just recall many unhappy PowerLogix customers venting here in the past. Anyone know if there has been any improvement. I'm considering upgrading a G4 (Gigabit Ethernet) 2 x 450MHz / 1GB Ram, with a faster processor. These are the 2 upgrades under consideration. PowerLogix PowerForce55 DUAL G4-7455/1.3GHz with 256K L2 On-Chip & 2MB L3 Cache Price: $439 Sonnet Encore/ST Duet *DUAL* G4/1.8GHz 512K L2 Cache Price: $599 Besides the obvious difference in price & processor speed, can someone explain the advantage / disadvantage of L2 vs L3 cache.
