Id like to point out that I receive a lot of fake emails trying to get
me to give out my eBay and PayPal name and login. Depending on how
elaborate these schemes could be, people who you've seemed to have a
normal transaction with could actually have stolen your information by
sending you an email containing questions you expect to hear, and having
the page look just like eBays login page, you wouldn't know unless more
attention is paid than usual.
And eBay doesn't seem to care! Its taking me way too long right now to
use eBays website to report such an email, IMO a link should be directly
on the home page. In fact, the website just sends you in circles!
And I cant imagine what the information that people do get is being
used for. But, it seems that if one is careful enough they can have a
fairly safe time on eBay. Except, it is hard to know if someone you are
buying from is really going to send an item to you, and at that point, I
think the police of whatever town, state, or country the money was sent
to needs to be contacted.
