So for a packaging system the right approach might be to build
--without-glib, assuming gnucash is gtk2?  That will expose users
still trying to use the glib1 wrapping features, and prevent the
two-glibs problem with more modern code.

Perhaps a new release of g-wrap that defaults to not using glib would
be in order.  (As a pkgsrc maintainer, I try to defer to decisions in
released code.)
