I am now regularly getting the error message that SyncSever app is quitting
unexpectedly. I believe the exact wording is "The application SyncServer
quit unexpectedly" It is annoying but does not seem to be causing a
problem. Something going bad?

I am running 10.5.5 on a Sawtooth G4 450mhz with 512 mb RAM.

This problem started after the upgrade to 10.5.5 but not sure exactly when.
I may have ignored the 1st few times it occurred. This last time i noted
that I am running both SAFARI and FIREFOX but neither Mail nor iCal are
running. These are the only applications open on the dock.

I googled SyncServer and ended up in the Apple Discussion forum and found a
message that recommended deleting the following file.
                ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/Local

Before I do that, is that the recommended procedure? Which library is that
in? Should i reinstall the update?

Thanks - Marty
