I have a powermac G4 mirrored drive doors with panther, 1.25 GHz, 768
mb of RAM, an 80 GB hard drive with a second 160GB drive for storage.

I've bought more RAM and Leopard. I also have a DVR-104PB that a friend
gave me. I understand this is will burn DVDs. Since my other drive is
only a DVD player I thought it would be nice to put this one in the bay
below the other.

What sequence should I use to upgrade my machine? Should I install the
RAM and drive and then the OS or the other way around? I've never put a
CD/DVD drive in a computer before is there anything special I should
watch out for?

I'm not too happy that Apple has let the mid range towers drop from
their line. The new iMacs are nice but you can't do any upgrades. I
like to get as many years use out of a machine before I buy a new one.
Especially at Apple's prices.
