You have to check the partitions, not the drives, specifically the  
partition with the OS 9 on it you are trying to boot.

Does the OS 9 CD see the partition in question?  If it does what does  
the installer say when it can't install?  What happens you you try to  
boot to the OS 9.2.2 equipped partition (details)?
