Well this is sort of an anti-reply to the "orphaned" thread. I have been happily dual booting Linux and MacOS's for about 5 years now.
I have os8 and debian lenny on two quadras. I have os9 and debian squeeze on a powerbookG3 250 (that's the next upcoming version of Linux) and it works well for me. Those guys were orphaned a long time ago but I still use them ! _____________ Also, the POWER architecture is not going away in the least despite Apple being against it. Nearly every game console uses it , most of the world's fastest computers, and most automobiles, and nearly all the unmanned space missions (the last two are just moving up to the G3)... Never mind the mid-level machines, Anyway Debian will not abandon the powerpc, only their owners can do that. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
