Open Console.app (it's in /Applications/Utilities). Set it to view system.log. Then plug in the devices and see what error messages are thrown. Might be worth trying to plug them in directly - no hub etc. >Both card reader and MP4 player are recognized on a Windows XP >computer which also has USB 1.1 only. Ok. So they are known good. >Can something have become corrupt in the OS (10.4.11) that blocks it >from installing new USB drivers? Doubtful. Most likely there's a signal problem -- too much on the USB, so it can't get enough power for that device. The error messages in the system.log will help to figure it out. - Dan. -- - Psychoceramic Emeritus; South Jersey, USA, Earth. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
