If the tower is turquoise then it's definitely a G3. Most PC100 memory should work. Many PC133's, too. Not all memory of either speed will work, because of timing issues.
The DIMM First Aid utility runs under OS 9, and can see if your memory will work: http://www.mactcp.org.nz/dimmfirstaid.html Some memory will be rejected when you install the latest firmware update because of timing issues.
