OK, here is some Nanny input. CIVIL discussion is fine.
As long as no flame wars erupt and everyone keeps civil, we tend to allow these threads. The Nannies are all volunteers and have to allocate our time that we spend on helping out on the lists.
Yes, Dan Knight is the list owner and his word rules, but he allows the Nannies a fair amount of leeway in what is and is not allowed on the list.
As far as a thread morphing, it happens in real life conversations and it happens in online discussions also. That is the nature of human communication. If you feel that a question you posted has not been answered and the thread has morphed, don't hesitate to politely re-ask the question either trying to get the thread back on track, or repost as a new thread.
The lemlists list is an underused list, but it allows a little more freewheeling discussions regarding the other LEM lists.
