I'll second the above.  While you COULD MAYBE do it, I wouldn't.  I
tried at the request of someone a couple years back who wanted a better
resolution LCD in a ThinkPad - it didn't end well.  

Now if it was a swap of a higher res LCD from a same model?  That would
probably work - say a MBP - but nope, I wouldn't even try from a
different model.
