ATA HD transfer from MDD 1.42Ghz G4 to 2.5Ghz G5 late 2005.
What is required?
Is it even possible?

Personally, this sounds like a bad idea. I'd use an SATA HD in the G5,
or perhaps even two in OS X soft RAID. You can clone the MDD System
onto the G5 as long as it's an OS X System newer than 10.4.4 (OEM
System that shipped with Late 2005 G5). SATA HDs are cheap, buy a 1TB
or a couple 500GB for the G5 and leave the old MDD ATA HD in the MDD.
