The red light is one for about 2 or 3 seconds. Thereafter no more red, only green :-) Sorry, don't know more. Could be a lose contact, e.g. for the air deflector or so. If it works, it works, right? BTW: This model “features” a sudden death when the battery goes empty: you'll only hear the fans roar and that's it. Solution: simply replace the battery. Type: CR2032, 3V I just had this happen, and it took me some time to figure it out. Just my 2¢.
