You could also put in an extra (used) graphic card in a PCI slot.
Those are really cheap.
But if you're not that tight, you could consider replacing the current
AGP card by a better one.

I don't know how good the factory-installed cards in the G5 are, but
when I wanted to connect a DVI monitor to my Digital Audio (G4), I
found that ADC->DVI adapters cost almost the same as upgrading to an
ATI Radeon 9000 card having simultaneous ADC and DVI output.
