I discovered why my SIIG Ultra ATA-133 card quit working. I picked up the computer it was formerly in to move it and head something rolling around. At first I thought it was a loose screw.
I found a little cylinder rolling around. It was about a half inch long and a quarter inch in diameter. I think it is a capacitor. At first I thought something had fallen off this computer but I looked at the SIIG card and there is a void where this thing plugs into. I am not sure how it is supposed to be aligned. It has a stripe down one side and all the other capacitors are facing the same way. I am wondering if it is worth trying to solder this back on. I don't know if my opinion of this card is improved now that I know that something has fallen off of it and that is the most likely reason it doesn't work and it's not really a piece of crap.
