Paul,
  I don't have a yahoo mail account, so I don't know exactly what they
are looking for.  You may have seen references here recently to
tenfourfour.  That project has some relation to another project that
builds up to date Mozilla for versions of OSX before Tiger.  See:

 Secondly, depending on what Yahoo mail REALLY needs, you might be able
to set the user agent string in whatever browser you use.  In Mozilla, I
use an addon caller User Agent Switcher to make this easy.  But, you can
change the user agent string on almost any browser.
