True, but on my G3 B&W 350 MHz there wasn't any thermal paste. With these
processors there isn't that much heat emission.

My old 50 MHz Intel i486 also didn't use thermal paste, although it had a
heatsink with a fan, what I would call: “loosly attached.” But back in the
days this was normal.


So, if there is none in the first place, there is nothing to reapply.

There is the possibility that someone previously took it apart and neglected to re-apply it; also I don't think it can hurt if applied properly.
