Thanks, that is something to try. So far, I tried to change two strings on the about:config page (extensions.lastAppVersion and extensions.lastPlatformVersion") from "7.0" to "3.0", and at first it seemed to work, even though those strings were reverted to "7.0" after restarting TenFourFox. But after a few tries GMail started to send me to the "standard view" again.
Maybe it has something to do with cookies as well. There's actually two points in here: 1. If possible, I'd like to get the basic view when I go to mail.google.com using this browser. 2. If that doesn't work, I at least want to get basic view when I go to https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=html The first option has the added advantage that the yellow bar across the page "You're using GMail in basic view. Update your browser, etc." is not there. >"if you really need" Would I put so much energy into this if I didn't clearly prefer the basic view? I just don't like to wait for stuff I don't need. I'm not on a super-highspeed connection and my computer isn't that fast either. I wonder how people in developing countries are doing, or anyone with a dialup connection for that matter. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
