It boots into the OSX installer, but won't install. It freezes part way through.

Is there any way to run memtest without having an OS installed?

You have to boot *something*. Someone probably has a bootable Linux DVD that includes Memtest... but what's the point? You already indicated previously in the thread that the machine DOES boot! Install Memtest (it's included as an option in the AppleJack installer). Boot into single-user mode, and run it!

You need a copy of ASD 2.5.8 it will boot the machine and check all the hardware.
