Any ideas, please?

You should buy one of these Radeon 7000 PCI cards from eBay for about $10 shipped and flash the ROM to Mac using a ROM from MacElite forums downloads. I can help make sure you flash the card correctly, but you'll need some type of functional monitor to flash the card. It can be flashed in a Mac or PC.

You could alternatively buy a Mac Radeon 7000 PCI card, but they're more expensive than the PC versions, the only one I see on eBay is $38 which is too much to spend on a Beige G3 in my opinion. $10 or $11 is OK for a nice, fast video card that works in both OS 9 and OS X, but $38 will buy you a whole used Mac that's a lot better than a Biege G3.

Return that adapter (if you can) and don't buy another. You can probably get that one to work if you try harder. You should zap the PRAM by holding the Cmd-Opt-P-R keys for several chimes, it should then at least pickup at 640x480 on ANY functional VGA monitor. Try both setting after zapping the PRAM, these adapters often work completely wrong from what they say. Your best option for certain is a $10 Radeon card that you flash from PC to Mac.
