If it is the fan that cools the heat sink it is very easy to replace. About 
$20.00 to buy. First I would determine whether it is just clogged with dust and 
stuff, it may just need to be cleaned. My fan was clogged to the point that it 
burned the motor out. I reseated the heat sink while replacing the fan using 
Arctic Silver from Radio Shack. If you decide to replace the fan be sure and 
save the power plug, my new fan came without a plug. FWIW
