Do you ever use benchmarking? Do you keep records of it? go ahead, Benchmark your prestn OS. And also give it a task on a file to accomplish like sending a 5 GB movie file to an external drive and write down the time.
The install your dream OS and perform the exact same tests. Compare. Then you will know for yourself and no one can second guess you or lead you astray. You can always shift back.
