I've used the 2.4 alpha version of g4u a couple times now and always get the expected excellent results. I'm testing on pretty much older systems -- Pentium III and 4 motherboards. Mostly Pentium 4 machines with older hard drives that are cache buffer- and rotational speed challenged. It is interesting to read David Bell's report of a hang on a newer motherboard; I've not yet used G4U with newer chipsets like the G965.
