Category: None >Group: 2.0.0 beta 5 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: druid (eric_druid) >Assigned to: Mark Doliner (thekingant) Summary: Draging and dropping ICQ contacts makes them disapear Initial Comment: When I drag and drop an ICQ contact from one group to another I get an innformation box informing me that the user needs authorization to be added and asks me if I want to send an authorization request. If I say no, the contact dissapears entierly. If I say yes, I send an authorization request and can't se if the person is online or not until he/she has authorized me. Moving contacts should not require an authorization. I'm running the debian testing (etch) version of gaim. Gaim info says gaim2.0.0 beta 5 and apt says 2.0.0+beta5-9. Don't move ICQ contacts with Gaim at this point, use another client if you need to move your ICQ contacts around. Some people don't even get the authorization and you think everything is fine then after a few minutes POOF the contacts disappear. I also suggest using the list handler plugin (part of the Guifications plugin pack) as this allows you to back up your contacts. Though only use it to restore your contacts unless you have a big issue (ie many of your contacts disappeared) becuase it will ask people to reauthorize after you restore the ICQ contacts. It is not the best solution but it is still certainly easier than readding everyone by hand (assuming you even know their ICQ number). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: druid (eric_druid) Date: 2007-02-06 19:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1483969 Originator: YES Sorry for the repost.
