Summary: Sound playback problems

Initial Comment:
I have Windows prof, sp2 and GAIM v2.0.0 beta 2.

Lately I have been experiencing inconsistent sound
playback issues. Sometimes, often I am not hearing
sounds when I received msgs where I did before. I
have disabled/enable sounds and some seem to work but
not always....

Only change I can think of is recently last week there
might of been some critical window updates that were
applied...

Thanks,

[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Mark

I noticed this when upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0.0beta6. It appeared to not
play sounds while other programs (Winamp) were playing, but actually it's
just that the volume of Gaim is so much lower than other programs that you
just can't hear the sounds Gaim plays, but they are being played. If I turn
down the volume in Winamp I can hear the sounds, but with Winamp at full
volume I can't.

This isn't a problem with any other program, it's just Gaim. The volume
Gaim plays sounds at is significantly lower than any other program. This
wasn't an issue in 1.5 I can't find any options to control the volume
within Gaim.

I'm on WinXP SP2.

This is somewhat vague. A specific description of when it
does and does not play sounds might be helpful.

Is it, perhaps, not playing sounds when something else is
using the sound card (in which case you need to look into
your sound drivers)?
