Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: win32 Group: 2.0.0 beta 5 Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Mark Vandale (mvandale) Assigned to: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Summary: Sound playback problems Initial Comment: I have Windows prof, sp2 and GAIM v2.0.0 beta 2. Lately I have been experiencing inconsistent sound playback issues. Sometimes, often I am not hearing sounds when I received msgs where I did before. I have disabled/enable sounds and some seem to work but not always.... Only change I can think of is recently last week there might of been some critical window updates that were applied... Thanks, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mark ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ian Dunn (iandunn) Date: 2007-04-06 10:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=113563 Originator: NO I noticed this when upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0.0beta6. It appeared to not play sounds while other programs (Winamp) were playing, but actually it's just that the volume of Gaim is so much lower than other programs that you just can't hear the sounds Gaim plays, but they are being played. If I turn down the volume in Winamp I can hear the sounds, but with Winamp at full volume I can't. This isn't a problem with any other program, it's just Gaim. The volume Gaim plays sounds at is significantly lower than any other program. This wasn't an issue in 1.5 I can't find any options to control the volume within Gaim. I'm on WinXP SP2. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: SourceForge Robot (sf-robot) Date: 2006-03-20 22:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1312539 This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. A specific description of when it does and does not play sounds might be helpful. Is it, perhaps, not playing sounds when something else is using the sound card (in which case you need to look into your sound drivers)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Vandale (mvandale) Date: 2006-03-06 10:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1469021 I hear sound from some contacts but not others ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100235&aid=1444170&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
