This is what I got following http://gaim.sourcefırge.net/gdb.php. I was doing 
nothing when this random crash happened. I ran it again, it crashed again.

Looks like that "strcmp () from /lib/libc.so.6" is causing all kinds of
hell. Same happens to me.

The strange thing is that it's always when one particular contact is
talking to me, and there's nothing particularily special about that
contact.

Check which contacts are talking to you when GAIM crashes, you might find
it's one particular one as well.
