Category: win32 Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 3 Private: No Submitted By: Richard Kinder (r_kinder) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Buddy list window name reflects the account/protocol Initial Comment: I would like to see an enhancement such that buddy list window names reflect the username/protocol in use - I have 3 IM accounts (meanwhile, yahoo and ICQ) and each is named 'Buddy List', so doing alt-tab between windows I can't distinguish between the different accounts. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-10 16:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Kinder (r_kinder) Date: 2004-10-12 20:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=20532 In this case you only need a single 'Buddy List' title. If you have multiple instances with different accounts in them, make the title a coagulation of the protocol/usernames used in the buddy list. Rules for naming: Single window with single/multiple protocols: Window title name 'Buddy List' Multiple windows with single protocol in each: Window title name 'Buddy List for <username> on <protocol> [servername]' where [servername] is only specified if multiple instances of the same username/protocol are currently running Multiple windows with multiple protocols in each is the only real issue here as the title could become quite cumbersome following a similar naming protocol to that above. I'm only concerned with multiple windows with single protocol in it. I should have been more specific in my initial comment - I run multiple gaim instances, one for each IM service I use. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2004-10-12 19:13 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 um, and that would work how when you sign on multiple of those screennames from a single instance of gaim (which is what gaim is designed to handle) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=1045777&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
