Category: None Group: gtk bug #153219 >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: bugmenot (bugmenot) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Multiple monitors new IM window opens in unviewable position Initial Comment: WinXP. I have two monitors configured, with the right monitor being the primary. The two monitors are running at different resolutions, with the primary monitor running at 1280x1024 and the secondary at 1024x768. Since the physical configuration of the monitors is that they are not at the same height, I have configured Windows to have the secondary (left) monitor lower than the primary. When a new IM window is spawned, it's obviously spawned at 0,0. This poses a problem, because the window is almost invisible (the secondary monitor's viewable area starts at about 400px down). Since the mouse is unable to access the title bar to move the window, I resort to using keyboard commands to move the window. Problem is solved until the IM window is closed, then next time it spawns it reopens. Suggested fixes: a) An option to specify on which monitor new IM windows appear. b) An option to allow the IM window's x, y position to be saved when it is closed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2005-01-31 14:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 I created a plugin that acts as a workaround to this GTK bug. It is posted in the Plugins Tracker: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1113304&group_id=235&atid=390395 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jeffery To (coderjeff) Date: 2005-01-27 05:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1089354 I hate to nitpick (since the two GTK bugs may very well be the same bug), but I think this should be filed under GTK bug 153219. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2005-01-26 21:56 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 This is a GTK bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=680472&aid=1110266&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
