Category: win32(unknown) Group: gtk bug #170948 (no disk error) >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: rp_novice (rp_novice) Assigned to: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Summary: Windows - No Disk Error Initial Comment: When Gaim.exe is activated, a Windows problem comes up stating as follows: TITLE: Windows - No Disk DESCRIPTION: There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive. *** AFFECTED SYSTEM: Windows XP Media Center 2005 GAIM VERSION: 1.5.0 RECURRENCE: Always ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: c0d3w4rri0r (c0d3w4rri0r) Date: 2006-01-16 20:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1429066 Ok, I have figured what is causing the problem. The device it is trying to access is on a media reader. For me the issue was with the SmartMedia / xD slot. The rest of the slots seemed to have no problem. If you disable this device you will not recieve the error. Any questions feel free to email me. It would be nice if someone posted a bypass. Or a way to disable whatever was causing this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2005-08-15 20:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 This is not a Gaim bug, but a bug in GTK+, the widget toolkit used by Gaim. Your bug is being moved to our "gtk bugs" tracker, where it will be grouped with similar bugs. When we know a gtk bug number for this issue, your group number will reflect it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2005-08-15 20:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 This is a GTK+ bug. It has been fixed upstream, but a new version of atk (one of the components of GTK+) has not been released yet (when that happens, this bug will go away). This is triggered by having (some sorts of) removable media (e.g. memory card reader) mapped to your i: drive, you can avoid it by not using the i: mapping. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=680472&aid=1258183&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
