Hi Rolf,

EXEC will run a single executable program.
SHELL can run a shell script, including pipes and redirection between 
two or more executables.

You could think of EXEC as the fundamental way to run another program, 
while SHELL is shorthand for EXEC /bin/bash <parameters...>.
