Not an answer but another observation. 

I've got gambas3 running on 2 laptops  (one kubuntu 9, one kubuntu 12)  and 6 
desktops at work (kubuntu 10 or 11). 

My Nvidia laptops draw all the graphics fine. 

Machines with intel on board have problems - sometimes the popup lists or 
columnview have an outline but the contents of the lists not visible - one can 
arrow up/down, select a line and I know the content is there because my code 
will verify it. I've looked till I'm blue in the face trying to find a 
solution. Dosnt appear to be a .raise problem.

Anyone else noticed this sort of stuff?
