I can clearly see in gb.libxml/src/CXMLDocument.c that there is a FromString() routine. I personally never used that component and I'm sorry if I'm mistaken or misunderstood you. (As for gb.libxml.xslt and gb.libxml.rpc they seem to be removed, as indicated by the revision logs).
