Apparently the Ubuntu patch that make Qt application export their menu is not very clever. It works with most applications, but not with the Gambas IDE. I found a workaround in revision #6573. It is enabled only if you explicitely hide the menus, and then restart the IDE. Otherwise, you can explicitely set the 'APPMENU_DISPLAY_BOTH' environment variable to '1' before starting the IDE. Tell me if it works for you.
