I noticed a false positive error message under these circumstances:

 - you don't have installed any software from the "example" vendor yet (so
   there is no "example" directory under "Installed softwares"),
 - you install / download a software whose vendor is not "example" but has
   an "example" tag (so that in CSoftware.class:Install(), the Link
   instruction near the end of the function is executed).

Bruce's (and friends') "vrecentfilesd" project is such a software. The
message is

  "Unable to download vrecentfilesd 0.1.9:

   File or directory does not exist."

However, the software is downloaded correctly, just that symbolic link to
"example" cannot be created.

I sent a patch in another matter some minutes ago[0] which contains a way
to fix that.
