Well, I am a staunch Christian and I read 'em all the time--they are great works. But it's not like I get delusions about magic or decide to become a sorcerer--well maybe I should! I could wave my cane in the air and shout, "Lumos!" Of course, if it lights up what good will it do me anyway!
