Hi Bryan.

I'm not sure on sharks, but I can say for certain from a canine behaviour expert I spoke to that wolves are very! much maligned, furthermore, there is very little genetic difference between your average pet dog and a wolf, in fact I have heard of people who bought wild wolves up as pups and just treat them as you would any dog, and one particularly crazy researcher who literally lived with a wolf pack for a while and convinced them he was another wolf, (saying this is doubly ironic as beside me at the moment is Reever, the most unthreatening, unwolflike cute black lab you could imagine).

For the historical reputation, one theory I've heard is that sinse a pack of wolves would attack a lost sheep or farm animal, and sinse agriculture was how most people lived they got viewed as a menace. i've also heard rabies contributed to the problem as well sinse obviously a rabid animal of any sort won't care what they attack and when bitten will cause the desease in others.

Btw, in Britain rather sadly the wild wolf was hunted to extinction in the late 18th century, which is a little sad, although understandable.

Beware the Grue!

Dark.
