Jim's games will actually throw a bit of a fit if they're in x86. They're workable, but it takes a good bit of fiddling; thus I'd highly recommend simply extracting to program files. As to other games, they should run just fine. The idea behind multiple program files folders is that you have one for 64-bit applications and one for 32-bit applications.

While I'm looking forward to working with a new, at least to me, version of Windows, one thing I'm wondering about is where I should install games like those from Jim Kitchen. As I understand it, there are two "Program Files" folders when you have a 64-bit system. Can someone tell me which one I should install games to, or does it really matter? Do you have to use the Compatibility Wizard for the games to work, or are they usable regardless? Also, on a slightly different note, I've had an odd issue with Smugglers 5 running under Windows XP. The game works fine, but I've noticed that when I quit, the dinging noise you hear if you press a wrong key appears to be disabled until the computer is restarted. It's a minor thing, I know, but I like to have all my system sounds working. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this issue when playing the game under Windows 7? Thanks.
