Nope, the alpha monkey can only be killed in one special way which you have
to figure out for yourself, or you could read on if you want the spoiler.
Beware! large Tarzan Junior spoilers follow read no more unless you want
your game spoiled by the spoilers!
When the alpha monkey appears, there is a short cutscene where Tarzan says
he can't fight the alpha monkey with such a tiny spear. This is the clue on
how to win. Run to the right to the end of the branch and fall off into the
river, the Alpha monkey will jump in after you and sink streight to the
bottom and drown! Don't try to swing away from the monkey or to fight him,
sinse he'll wop you one and you'll lose a life, just dive into the river and
watch the stupid ape fall to his doom!
