it is actually possible to do this in a round about way.
While the online modes are not playable as suck you can play it with sighted friends.
I was on holiday and was able to play it over 2 days straight.
You do need either a quiet room with no one else in it, or both need to wear headsets or doing it over a teamtalk connection, you listen to the story and just tell your friend who is playing where to go.
