Hi Davy, Some of the brooms are not magic and have no use other than to sweep the floor. I think the caretaker would love if you went around the castle sweeping the floors but this is something that would not help you in finding a way out of the castle and winning the game. If the broom is picked up by just getting near to it then it is not a magic broom and you should just drop it.
