Hi damien,
I always appreciate a sound describing feature and if I have no trouble 
identifying sounds I do not need it but if I do have trouble it is important 
to have.
Of course certain sounds may be critical to game play like the tone when a 
target is in your cross hairs of your gun.
 If you have different creatures with different capabilities of killing you 
then something to distinguish one from another is important.
