I don't know if Pspad can read the MS Word documents but I doubt. I may give 
it a try though.
HOwever, whenever I want a long document to be converted into HTML, I just 
save it as plain text (I believe RTF could work too) and open it in Pspad 
and just choose "convert to html". The coolest thing about this feature is 
that it preserves the formating of your original file when possible, so you 
have the same paragraphs and fonts used in the HTML file. Then I can do any 
changes I need manually, and it really makes the work much easier and saves 
loads of time.
I can't really remember the website for Pspad off the top of my head but you 
or me could do a search for it. I am sure Google can find the correct site 
among the first 10 displayed links when you search for pspad.
