If you are viewing the magazine in notepad then yes, control-f will do this. If you are viewing the magazine in an html file, then your screen reader such as Window-Eyes will have it in a special msaa buffer. In Window-Eyes it's called browse mode. From within browse mode you can press control-shift-f and search for the plus signs from within browse mode. So, this is why the plus signs are there to begin with. In fact, when you do not have an thml version of a document, it's a sure way of getting from point a to point b to point c, especially with screen readers. Just takes a little know-how.
