Then you'd probably better train u, maybe even get a better shield. Have you completed any of the roving Grounds? Your MR is about right for the first three or so if I'm not mistaken, and the Adventurer Tokens would enable you to get a better shield depending on what you're using at the moment. Granted I don't know the absolute minimum for taking on the Catamarok so I couldn't say for sure.
