also, in armageddon, back and block will do a Perry. you do need some timing, and hit the button combination as soon as your opponent delivers the first hit.

Fighting styles are changed by hitting l1 on the ps2 and l on the psp. I like to vary my style depending on who I'm using. Scorpion, for example, I always starts with his default style, that is hakido. Because there's a seven hit combo possible that branches styles, I can work at my opponent for a bit then break into that combo.

Tips for armageddon? Characters only have two fighting styles. All other tips apply to unchained and deception as well. Use your breakers. By hitting forward + block that is r2 or r, in the middle of a combo, you deliver a hit that, well, breaks the combo and lets you counter attack. Don't forget to sidestep. Hitting up and down let's you dodge projectiles, and you hear a bit of a whooshing sound as they fly by.

I hope this helps. If there's anymore I can do to help, feel free to ask.

Howdy everyone.

I've recently picked up the MK collection for my playstation 2 as well
as mk unchained for my psp so have been busy reading all the faqs and
guides I can find. These are real helpful overall however I could use
some tips like how to change fighting styles, which style you tend to
start with e.g. with your weapon or without etc. I am mainly interested
in MK deception and unchained here since they are basically the same
thing from what I understand, Unchained is just the port of deception
for the psp. If you have any info on Armageddon I will of course take
that too for later.

I've actually managed to do pretty well at the games from just basic
button bashing but I would rather have some idea of what I am doing as
this makes the games much more fun. So, any info you have on playing
these would be much appreciated.

Game on!
Tom
