On July 23 2009, the first net played Strat-o-matic computer baseball game wa played. Boston Manager David Hoppman. Oakland Manager Gary Whittington.
As this was a game to work out any problems during a net played game in the first game of the 2008 Liberty League schedule March 25 2008. Gary stepped into the manager role for the computer manager for the Oakland team. This team is available to any blind baseball fan to manage, if they want to join the Liberty League. Here is a newpapper clipping of the highlight of the game. WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Oakland's Ryan Sweeney robbed Manny Ramirez of an extra base hit. Jack Cust had 2 base hits and Joe Blanton was on top of his game, blanking Boston on just 2 hits as the Oakland Radicals defeated the Boston Bean Eaters 2 to 0 at McAfee Coliseum. Blanton(1-0) was on top of his game. He didn't allow much, just 2 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. After the 3rd inning, neither team was able to score. Josh Beckett(0-1) was given the loss. Despite losing, he struckout 13 Oakland batters in 8 innings. 'He had his 'A' game tonight,' Gary Whittington" said of Blanton. 'Very impressive performance.' XXXXXXXXXXX After years of creating the right Jaws configurations for the computer baseball game, I finally seen my goal come true. Having my own Strat blind email league. Both Dave and I really enjoyed playing the game without no problems. We are planing on playing the same teams on friday and maybe Dave can get his first ever win. Lastly, I was able to create a Yahoo group for the Liberty Leagues. That will also include the fantasy leagues and the pools I run.
