Hello,
I find Core-Exiles to be quite accessible. I am using Jaws on a Vista
office machine with IE 8. I could not get it to work properly with
FireFox (which they suggest). The game requires a fair amount of
strategic thinking. If you ever played the old Trade Wars from a BBS,
parts of the game are similar (at least for strategy).

That would be Core Exiles. I tried it for a while but I sort of lost
interest in it. You might try Sryth at www.sryth.com if you haven't
already. It's accessible, has a lot of content and at only 20 bucks a
year for a full account it's well worth it. And if you want you can
donate extra money to the game, even if it happens to be ten dollars
here and there. But again that's completely up to you. But you do get
rewards for donating even ten dollars to the game. Some might regard
this as the gamemaster being greedy but frankly I can totally
understand. For one thing Sryth is actually his job, and I do mean
that literally. And in any case he doesn't hold a virtual gun to your
head and say "donate or else!" The decision is still completely up to
you as to whether or not you do donate. True some content is only
available if you've accomplished certain feats in the game (such as
buying a grand residence), which are sometimes made easier through
donations. but if you really wanted to and were really determined you
could go without donating and still get the most out of it.

Vender: No pizza. Only Khlav Kalash.

Thanks, Dark! You're always helpful, and cheerful about it into the
bargain. Much
appreciated!
Since I'm interested in accessible RPG's now, could you give me some
poinhters as to some really good things to try out? I've tried that
new space game, and while it looks very involving, I couldn't seem
to make it happen. What's that one called again?

Hi William.
Why offlist? that's what this list is for.
In the Q9 program group on the start menue is a link saying
"manual" which leads to an html manual with all the instructions.
As a quick guide though, left and right walk, spacebar use weapon,
hold ctrl to run, alt to cycle weapons, up arrow then tap arrows to
jump left or right.
Note that there are several sights where you can find out a lot
about games. such as www.audiogames.net and www.pcsgames.nett which
have handy links and (in the case of audiogames.net), a game
database with descriptions etc too.
hth.
Beware the grue!
Dark.

After being on this list for years, I"m finally starting to check
out the many hot games for us blinks. I've been playing Entombed
nonstop, and now want a break. I've downloaded Q9, which sounds
hilarious but I can't figure out how to use the keystrokes. Could
someone give me an off-list direction as to where to find the game
help?
Cheers, Happy Hannukah and Merry Christmas to all.
