Hi Hayden,
The description of the chamber of secrets tunnel was never described so I designed it as a spiral labyrinth. I could add a few short cuts but that might make the finding of the snake door more challenging. In the update that I am still working on, I allow you to apparate past the tunnel, and even blast through the earth walls.
Phil

Hi,
One thing I find rather annoying is how it takes you so long to get through
the passage to the chamber of secrets. Turn this way, turn that way, turn
this way...and then to find that you get slaughtered by the basilisk. Also,
Phil, why did you number the chapters like you did.

Best Regards,
Hayden

Hi, Shaun.
Yes, David apparently has been attempting to fix some of the problems
with compatibility issues with Vista and Windows 7, but I can't say
when he will release said updates to the general public. All I can say
is he showed up on my developers list a few months back looking for
suggestions how to resolve problems with DirectSound 3D buffers
playing back correctly on newer PCs running Windows Vista and Windows
7. Apparently he had found a solution, but as yet there have been no
new versions of Shades of Doom, Tank Commander, etc baring this new
patch. So I guess we all just have to wait and see.
In the mean time if someone owns a copy of VmWare's VMPlayer for
Windows it is a good idea to install XP via a virtual machine and play
games that way. Truth is in terms of accessible games Windows XP is
the best solution right now. It will probably remain so until more
accessible games are updated to support Windows 7 directly, and uses
more up to date technologies like XAudio2 instead of DirectSound.

Cheers!

yeah this is because the old gma engine uses vb6 code and stuff is
not emulated with directx 8 properly.
As an interim solution, reformat and reinstall xp.
There is supposed to be a new version in the works but thats been
bandied round since win7 came out sertainly for the last 2 years.
If it is being worked on then david is being quite tight lipped on
the progress though we have gotten reports over the works that its
being worked on though not much of that.
I am just happy I still use xp.
