Hi, On the contrary...you can usually find the pipe in time. Bare in mind that you may need to speed up your search, or slow it down; I find that sometimes I don't even cyclethrough the pipes at all.

Its not always possible to quikly find the correct pipe while a thug is active, especially on higher levels where I have more pipes. Say for instance a thug appears, and I have to press enter and up arrow 6 times, then I am not successful in punching the thug to death in time.
