it probably doesn't matter that much.
Loads of games are compatible with other versions.
It doesn't seem to matter what stuff any text game is written in to
get extra features.
ie I have played inform games that run in 7 8 9 6 5 even 3.
most are in 5 or 8 but some are still in 6 or 3.
It doesn't matter so much as long as you have a universal interpreter
that can read any version of the game data file.
